TJ and Tooker Debate on the Hawk 97.3 Des Moines, Iowa. “ I was ready to get out of radio when I met TJ Brown. We agreed on the direction of the show but we went about it completely different. Somewhere between a Chinese Buffet in West Des Moines we always found the balance that would make us successful.” The foundation of the show was Tooker the Funny, off the wall, hopeless bachelor and TJ the sincere, family man. The show quickly became nationally recognized for it’s over the top stunts, brutal honesty and hard work ethic. Stunts included: Frozen Alive, Tooker walking 365 Miles from San Diego to Phoenix because of a lost bet, The Human Piñata, 20 dates in 20 days, Bevo Bingo, The Human Billboard, The Loser Line, Mr. Indestructible Microphone, Little Brother and Hair on The Air. In less than a year TJ and Tooker moved to KJYO Oklahoma City where the show began to evolve from just over the top stunts to a show that gave back to the community.

 

When an F-5 Tornado hit an Oklahoma City suburb Tooker was on a Red Cross Canteen and was the eyes and voice for CNN, MSNBC and countless news affiliates around the world. The TJ & Tooker Father’s Day Fishing Trip for children who didn’t have a male role model grew from 31 (first year) to 173 in its final year. In Oklahoma City the show was number 1 in all the key demos. From a Radio and Record Interview: Tooker” it’s a really hard show to be on. Tooker had a talk show on sister station (See Dan Tooker in the Evening) KTOK. With 24-7 on air presence the show reaffirmed their dominance in the OKC market. The last episode of TJ and Tooker was on KMLE in Phoenix, Arizona after several changes in management and ownership
